My kids love the idea of going on a picnic, so we pack up what seems like half of our refrigerator a few times a year and head out to one of our favorite Stanwood- Arlington or Skagit County (S.A.S.C.) picnic spots.
We’re lucky, in S.A.S.C., to have so many great picnic spots to choose from! Here’s my family’s list of top three picnic spots in S.A.S.C.:
1. Location: Lake Goodwin Community Park
Features:
- Lake Access
- Parking
- Picnic Shelters
- Picnic Tables
- Play Areas
- Playground
- Restrooms/Sanicans
What my kids love: The Playground is fun for all 3 of my kids, ages ranging from 4 - 10!
What I love: The water is very shallow so they can run and play with out mommy worrying too much.
2. Location: W.E. Evans Park
Features:
- Restrooms
- Picnic table
- Benches
- Children’s play area - ages 5-12
- One 90-foot diamond baseball field with lights
- Off-street parking
What my kids love: The baseball field! We love to come play a fun game under the lights.
What I love: The easy access on and off the freeway.
3. Location: Artist Point, Mt Baker Open June - October
Features: Trail and hiking information
Mt. Baker Ranger District Office
360-856-5700 ext 515
810 State Route 20
Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284
What my kids love: The feeling of being on an adventure.
What I love: This is more for the adventurous! Lot's of beautiful trails. You have to "work" for your perfect picnic spot.
That’s my family’s list, but I bet your family has their own favorite {town name} picnic spots! I’d love to know where they are. Drop me a line on Facebook {link to picnic post} or email me at name@macaronikid.com.
Have a great time on your picnic adventure, and remember...don’t forget the napkins!
